Stories can be a criminally underused portion of social media. When you’re trying to boost your sales, it can leave you guessing as to how to use them properly! Luckily, we’ve got a trick that will help you not only fill those stories, you will make more sales! Here’s a strategy we are seeing our students use—and the best part is that it doesn’t matter how many Instagram followers you have.
Stories Sell — So Get Telling!
This strategy is what we call “story sales”—a great way to keep your customers engaged and buying. The basic idea is this: post a sequence of photos in order for you to sell your goods on your Instagram stories. Include your prices and show what is available and accessible to your customers. Since stories only stay up for 24 hours, sometimes you need to repost the photos, but that’s pretty much it!
There are a few reasons this works–one is that QVC-esque “scarcity mindset”. Your potential customers will worry that inventory is dwindling or the sale’s timer is running out, and it may just push them to make that purchase.
This can be a great system for those who don’t want to show their face, for someone looking to get a bit of a cash injection for the holidays, or just someone wanting to experiment with some different tactics (after all, nobody can see what happens behind the closed doors of your DMs!) Try it out—it may just be the perfect strategy for your business.
