The Path to a Million Is Not Something You Do by Yourself

With the focus the world puts on leadership, it can be easy to forget that no one person runs a company completely on their own. No matter what your business is, you’ll forge relationships along the way – many of them beneficial, all of them educational. We wouldn’t be here today without each other so let us tell you just how important your ties with other people are.

Forge Meaningful & Mutually Beneficial Business Relationships That Last

On your path as a product boss, you’ll meet people, pick stuff up, and maintain certain relationships. This will look different every single time and for every single one of you, so don’t feel as though your story will be the same as those around you.

A common thing that we see in product bosses is treating their staff as peers. They may be close friends, but that doesn’t mean that you should talk to them about business decisions when you’re operating at a certain level. At the end of the day, you’re going home with the risk, not them.

Napoleon Hill defined a Mastermind as a meeting of two minds and, to this day, a Mastermind is one of the best ways to find helpful and supportive relationships. The idea is when two minds come together, they form a third mind, and that’s something you can see with us. When we first became friends, we created the third mind that you’re listening to and interacting with today.

Remember if you have big dreams and goals for your business, you don’t need to do this on your own!

The Mindset of a Million-Dollar Product Boss

One mistake people often make is thinking it all comes down to strategy, when, really, the most important thing is mindset. It can seem daunting or overwhelming to change how you think about running your business as it grows, but these kinds of shifts are critical to being able to scale your success.

Leave Strategy at the Door & Get Into the Successful Mindset of Million-Dollar Businesses

Chances are, if you run your own business, you’re a visionary. You have lots of ideas, you spend lots of time thinking about the future, and you dream really big. But the bigger your company grows, the harder it becomes to find the space to live the life you want and avoid burnout.

Sometimes, you might feel like you have complete clarity, but other times, you feel like a chicken flailing around with its head cut off. That burnout comes from not allowing yourself to be the visionary that you are.

That’s why we’re going to spend some time exploring what separates six and seven-figure product boss mindsets from the rest. Make sure to listen to this episode even if your business makes less than that. It never hurts to hear how other people approach their companies, and it might be good practice for when you’re making that income yourself!

For starters, one common trap people fall into as their business grows is not knowing when to stop wearing all the hats. When you start a company, you’re doing everything, or almost everything, yourself. It takes a lot of mental readjustment to get used to the idea of hiring people to do work for you, trusting them to do it to your standards, and even giving yourself permission to step back and focus on other things. But it’s an important step to take because, newsflash, you – the boss of your company – could be the bottleneck!

You’ve earned the ability to pick what you want to do in your company, so pick! You might want to stop going into your store, you might want to hand off your social media accounts, or you might want to step back from production. Great! Now it’s time to hire people to make that a reality.

Remember that you’re not always going to be hiring for a helping hand. At some point, you’re going to need to start attracting leaders who can make decisions and keep things running for you.

You’re a decision maker; not a doer, but that doesn’t mean that you have to make every decision yourself. There’s no limit to how much you can grow. Listen to this episode to find out exactly how.

Selling with Video with Krista Mashore

Video is one of the secret tools that can make all the difference in your marketing. It’s cheap, effective, and stats show that good video content can make all the difference to leveling up your sales. Krista Mashore is a top digital marketing consultant and our guest today. She’s here to give us the skinny on how you can use video to boost your business.

Learn How to Make Simple, Effective Video Content for Your Brand

Just knowing that we need to use video doesn’t mean we know how to properly utilize it. And starting out with video can be daunting, even though it shouldn’t be. It doesn’t need to be a full Hollywood production. A simple video showcasing your product – we talk about a seller who had an amazing hit with a video of one of her shirts hanging on a chandelier – can make all the difference.

For those of you who are introverts and find the idea of being in front of the camera too scary to take the plunge, don’t let that become a crutch that prevents you from pushing yourself and reaching a new level of potential! For a lot of people, being an extrovert is a muscle that you can exercise and build. It doesn’t have to come naturally. Just don’t give up at the first hurdle.

If you don’t believe us that getting video right is worth your while, listen to what Krista has to say in this episode. She teaches us that a landing page with video on your website will convert to sales 800% more than one without. That’s a mindblowing stat. Even more, an engaging video will perform better than highly produced, glossy content.

So long as the video showcases your product or service effectively, that’s all that matters.

Interruption marketing – that’s where you hook someone in while they’re casually browsing social media instead of actively looking for something to buy – is one of the most effective ways to market. And video is one of the best forms of interruption marketing out there.

Remember that facts tell, but stories sell!

Lessons Learned From Etsy, Makers & Handmade Business Owners

Today, we’re interviewing some incredible product bosses who are handmade business makers and owners. Half the members in our community are makers, so we know that showcasing their success is something that can really inspire you to level up your business and your profits.

We’re joined by Sarah Waggoner, Emily Gallardo, and Mindy Keegan – three of our Multi-Stream Machine students who’ve seen amazing results since signing up.

Multi-Stream Machine Helped Unlock the Path to Success for These Small Business Owners

Sarah is the product boss behind unique bottle and jar sellers, Heartland Lettering, Emily Gallardo is the owner and founder of EJ Clay Co who sell handmade clay earrings, and Mindy Keegan is the mama behind Made for Mama Shop who sell unique mugs designed to become a meaningful part of your life for years to come.

More than just inspiring, their stories are packed with lessons to be learned for anyone, whether you’re just starting out or looking to take the next step forward.

The one common factor between all three of them is that Multi-Stream Machine is what allowed them to create their very own path to profit. Even better, through implementing the modules learned in MSM, each of them saw such amazing results that they were able to pay off the course within a month of joining.

The biggest lesson we want you to take from today’s episode is that each and every one of you has your own path to profit. You just have to figure out what it is!

How to Protect Your Biz When All Your Sales Come from One Place

You have an incredible business, but if you’re relying on one platform or one main stream of revenue, you may find yourself in trouble in the future because we never know what the future will bring! What would you do if your main stream of revenue no longer existed? Or if the platform you rely on went down? Let's discuss how you can protect your business when you don't have control of the platforms you're selling on.

The Best Way to Protect Your Online Business Is to Get. Onto. More. Platforms!

If you’re relying on one platform, it doesn’t matter how established it is, you might find that something happens and suddenly you’re left without your key, or only, revenue stream. For instance, one of our Multi-Stream Machine and Mastermind students had three successful Etsy shops, but she accidentally used a word that was trademarked and Etsy shut down her shops and she had to start from scratch again.

A second example comes from another one of our Multi-Stream Machine students who has her business on Etsy. A customer complained about her bestseller – the one product she built her entire business around – and that product was taken down.

Now, we aren’t saying you should steer clear of Etsy or even move away from the one platform you’re on because this could happen on any platform you don’t own! Amazon could change their terms of service to something that doesn’t work for you at any time. Shopify could crash. Even if you have your own website, it could be hacked. Remember how helpless some people felt when Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp all went down at the same time in 2021?

What’s the best solution to protect yourself and your business? Get. Onto. More. Platforms!

You need to diversify your revenue streams because no one platform is safe. None of us would have predicted a global pandemic would come along and shut down in-person trade shows or close brick-and-mortar stores, right? Here’s how to find more sales platforms, more revenue streams, and the things you have to consider when you use them.

If this episode resonates with you, we want to help you grow your business, get on more platforms, save time, and make more money! The doors to Multi-Stream Machine are now open for a limited time so be sure to sign up today. We can't wait to see you inside!
